What is ORWO film?
ORWO is a 116 year old company and brand. Founded in Wolfen, in 1909; as an off-shoot of the AGFA film company. During the last decade ORWO has become renown for its cutting-edge range of black and white film products, which incorporates negative film for motion picture production, duplicating film, print film, sound recording film, and film leaders for the processing and distribution business. Fast forward to today, ORWO is excited to release the first photographic films launched by the company in decades. These are the first branded and professionally finished ORWO films that has been made available in 50 years!
Where is your stock produced?
We continue to produce a wide range of film products on the original Wolfen site in Germany, where motion picture film manufacture has been a tradition since 1910, and where continuing innovative development in film technology has been a feature of the ORWO brand since 1964. Where does your stock get sent from?
ORWO now has many distribution centres across the world ready to deal with orders, large and small. Be sure to get in touch if you need help with your order anywhere in the world!
How long does it take for my order to be processed?
Please allow 7 working days for your order to be processed and dispatched from our warehouse in Germany. If you have any questions regarding the status of your order, please contact our team on info@orwo.shop.
Which perforations do you use?
We use B&H perforations.
How can I become a distributor?

How should I store my unexposed film?
Please store your unexposed camera films at 13°C (50°F) or lower. If you are storing your films for longer than six months at a time, please store these at -18°C (0°F) or lower. Before your films are loaded into your camera, they should be at room temperature. Once your films have been exposed, please send them to the lab for processing as soon as possible.
How much film do I require?
Please click here to use the film footage calculator to estimate the running time of your reels if you know how many feet of film you have, or estimate feet of film if you know the running time and frames per second. The calculator works with any frame rate and can be used for Super 8, 16mm, 35mm, 35mm 3-perf, and 65mm film.
For 16mm, there are roughly 10 minutes of footage in 400ft and 2.5 minutes in 100ft. For 35mm, there are roughly 3.5 minutes of footage in 400ft.
